On the Cover of this month’s GUEST ADvantage: The City Gates were at one time the only entrance into St. Augustine. Plastered coquina masonry, two 24-1/2′ high square towers with finials and flanking walls. Built in 1808; repaired 1879, 1913; partially restored 1965.
Chuck W Hooper is a local artist beginning with a talent for woodcarving that spread to work with stone sculpting. He decided to photograph his work and soon realized that being behind the lens was another place to find creativity and joy.
