As the Official Golf Courses of the World Golf Hall of Fame, the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire at the World Golf Village Resort are award-winning championship courses designed to offer both enjoyment and challenge in a spectacular and unique resort setting. Both courses were designed by some of the legends of the game. The World Golf Hall of Fame is just a short drive away from Jacksonville, Palm Coast, and Daytona Beach. Slammer & Squire Golf Course 

The Slammer & Squire course is located in the heart of our golf resort near Jacksonville, Florida and is one of St. Augustine Florida’s favorite golf courses. This 18-hole championship resort course was designed by Bobby Weed with design consultants Sam “The Slammer” Snead and Gene “The Squire” Sarazen.

Course History

The Slammer & Squire course officially opened to the public in May 1998 and has become a favorite Jacksonville Florida golf course and features two distinct nines with generous fairways, contoured greens, and plenty of water hazards along with impressive views of the World Golf Hall of Fame. The course was the host site of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, a Senior PGA TOUR EVENT and hosted an array of other golf events such as the Handa Cup.

King & Bear Golf Course

The only collaboration between golf’s greatest legends, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus the King & Bear is set among pristine lakes, beautiful Loblolly pines, and stately oak trees in northern Florida. Each hole contains characteristics of both players to create a unique Jacksonville area golf course.

Course Layout & Design

When these two Hall of famers put aside their legendary rivalry, they created a beautiful, challenging, and truly remarkable golf course in St Augustine Florida. Measuring 7,279 yards from the stone tees and 5,119 yards from the green tees, this course is sure to challenge the skilled golfer while providing player-friendly conditions for the novice. This is a “driver’s” course, which should come as no surprise as both Palmer and Nicklaus wielded awesome power games in their primes. You’ll also experience the wide fairways of Nicklaus and the fast greens of Palmer.
